We did a Full Moon in honor of Set and Sekhmet this Full Moon. The moon was radiant in the sky as we stood outside to view her. Back inside, we started our ritual. While calling Sekhmet into our circle with praises and prayers, Hekate's Lady fell into a trance. These are the words from Sekhmet:
"I bear the weight of all, and I do so proudly. The weight of evil is hard to brush away. My feet are so heavy, walking the sands of the desert. Mortals are too busy to pray to me. I am forgotten. I cry out with my tears of anger and loneness.
HEAR ME ROAR! Call to me for Justice! My divine power becomes even greater with mortals prayers.
I seek out the mystics, those who pray to the deities. Without mortals calling out for justice, I cannot shield you from evil. I have to leave you to your own designs.
I am your intercessor, but feel useless roaming the desert - a vast endless land of sand. Most of my temples have fallen and crumbled over the centuries.
I am more that the image of the cat! For I am a mighty lioness - my fierceness is my power!!!
Yet no one is calling on me anymore. I wander the wilderness, my feet trudging in the sands of time."
Hekate's Lady saw Sekhmet in the midst of the desert with crumbling buildings. Her feet were almost stuck in the sifting sands. Seeing her made her heart ache. This left Hekate's Lady in pain and crouched on the floor. She had a migraine the next day from this experience, but we know the price of awakening a God or Goddess in our sacred circle. It is well worth it to be with them or bear their words.
