We decided to honor the children of the sky Goddess Nuit and the fertile God Neb for Lammas, since the preceding days were the annual celebration of their birth.
In our rituals, we give time for meditation or dancing for the deities we call apon. We danced and played instruments to the song "My God is the Sun". Afterwards, Hekate's Lady felt a stabbing pain in her back in fell to her knees. These are the words she received:
"Can you imagine being ripped to shreds?
It is a necessary pain. A sacrifice of my self, for my children.
Remember our seasons days, and history.
You come from our bodies - we use our magic to bring life to you.
Take our statues off the shelf. Remember us, honor us simply.
Our sacrifice is the strongest gift we have.
Let your feet touch the earth and look apon the night sky.
Open up to sacred love and spirituality.
Our people never stopped their devotion.
They stayed for us, still tending the land in the ancient ways.
Our waters still flow and nourish the land."
Hekate's Lady saw the villagers tending the land which has not changed over centuries. She felt the fertile land in her hands as she spoke. Seeing such humble and devoted folks who live simply and honor the old ways, it was enough to choke her up in tears. They flowed as a thanks to all who honor the sacred land and live by the Nile's seasons.
